Participant protection

SafeSport and U18 participation

Public policy and reporting links live here. Private dashboards receive only the aggregate compliance scopes a member league has authorized; named records stay restricted.

Report urgent safety concerns to the proper authority

Root is not an emergency or abuse-reporting service. Follow the applicable law and governing-body reporting instructions. If someone is in immediate danger, contact 911.

SafeSport workflow

  • League records training and screening status in its own workspace.
  • Authorized aggregate totals roll up to the association.
  • Small cohorts are suppressed; missing data is never presented as zero.
  • Named compliance records are not available in the association portal.

U18 adult-game workflow

  • League identifies under-18 adult-game participation from canonical date of birth.
  • Youth release requirements are tracked for the reporting period.
  • The association sees aggregate status and verified submission state—not a public minor roster.
  • Historical compliance records remain auditable even if optional sharing ends later.
